Medema Gruppen
Medema Gruppen develops, produces, and distributes assistive devices and healthcare solutions. These solutions support people with reduced mobility and functional abilities, as well as the elderly. Founded in the early 1980s, the company has grown into a Scandinavian group with subsidiaries in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, along with distributors in more than 15 countries.
In collaboration with ESG365, Medema has taken the first steps towards a complete ESG report. The group has prepared the Basic Module, which is the first part of the EU’s Voluntary Standard (VS), while also working strategically on its own sustainability initiatives — several of which are inspired by the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Throughout the process, Medema was able to identify and document a range of initiatives that have already been implemented across the group. In Norway and Sweden, all purchased electricity comes from wind or hydropower. At the Herning facility, production has transitioned from oil heating to an air-to-water heat pump and green district heating. The Norwegian vehicle fleet includes 36% electric vehicles, with a target of reaching 100% by 2030. From 2017 to 2024, the Norwegian part of the group reduced its waste volume by 59%.
In addition to ESG data, the report documents the group’s Code of Conduct. The Code is based on the UN Global Compact and its ten principles covering human rights, labour standards, and anti-corruption. The report also includes ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications. These support the group’s quality and environmental management across production and distribution.
“Keep it simple”
Although Medema Gruppen operates across three countries and manages a broad product portfolio, the collaboration with ESG365 shows that ESG reporting does not have to be overwhelming. With a structured approach and a unified platform, the group has been able to transform data from multiple countries into one consolidated report.
Making complex processes easy to understand is what ESG365 is designed to do. For Medema, this has meant that data from different business areas could be gathered in one place, without making the process unnecessarily complicated along the way.
Medema’s ESG report outlines the group’s ESG efforts in 2024 and their ambitions for 2030. The report has been prepared according to the VS Basic Module. It includes environmental data covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
