SMEs can now receive support for ESG reporting

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find a good reason for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) not to begin ESG reporting. Although there is no formal legal requirement for them yet, the benefits are numerous—both internally within the organization and externally in relation to stakeholders. For many companies, however, financial constraints remain a significant barrier. Fortunately, help is available through the Business Program, which has just opened a new funding pool aimed at supporting SMEs that want to get started with ESG reporting.

The Business Program, run by the country’s business houses and supported by the Danish Business Promotion Board, is an initiative aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Denmark achieve growth in various areas – including digitalization and green transition. Within the green transition, they offer the “SME: Green Competencies” fund, which is designed to strengthen employees’ and managers’ skills and knowledge in green transition. Last week, they opened their latest fund: the ESG Initiative.

Financial Support for ESG Reporting Consultancy

The ESG effort, funded by the Danish Business Promotion Board, provides SMEs that want to engage with ESG the opportunity to receive financial support for consulting and investments related to ESG. Specifically, two consulting vouchers are offered with the following maximum subsidy amounts:

The subsidy must be used for a consulting process, which could include working with ESG365 to develop a tailored ESG strategy for your company.

To apply for the subsidy, companies must submit an application to the Business Program. Before applying, it is recommended to have a free advisory session with your local business hub.

There are several eligibility criteria that companies must meet to qualify for the subsidy. More information can be found on the Business Program’s website.

ESG365 is listed on the Business Program’s inspiration list as a potential provider and advisor.
