Cycling is one of the most effective and accessible solutions we have.
In the fight for a better world and a healthier climate, it is not always about big, complex solutions. Sometimes it’s about the more practical choices in everyday life, for example, how we commute to and from work. This is precisely where enormous potential for change lies. Cycling is one of the most effective and accessible solutions we have.

Cycling in Your ESG Report
According to the Danish Cyclists’ Federation, cycling directly contributes to 5 of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, including sustainable cities, responsible consumption, and health for all. In the context of ESG, employee transportation also plays a significant role, both in the E and the S. For example, transportation accounts for a substantial part of a company’s Scope 3 emissions. At the same time, it is an important element of the S, where employee wellbeing and health are central factors.
Cycling can concretely strengthen your ESG reporting. By promoting cycling as a mode of transport, you can reduce your company’s climate footprint while also improving employee satisfaction and health. At ESG365, we also encourage companies to select specific Sustainable Development Goals and incorporate them into their ESG reporting. This is where you can truly demonstrate what you stand for and how you work with sustainability in everyday practice. For example, you might consider goals where cycling has a documented and direct impact:
- Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being
- Goal 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities
- Goal 13 – Climate Action
By describing how you support these goals, you can make your sustainability strategy more tangible, relevant, and measurable—for employees, partners, and investors alike.
Tour de Herning with Bæredygtig Herning
ESG365 is proud to be a member of the local association and inspiration hub, Bæredygtig Herning, where cycling is one of the key focus areas. Throughout 2025, they will host various events centered on cycling, and one of these events will take place on Friday, May 16th. During this event, participants will hop on their bikes for the “Tour de Herning,” visiting places including ESG365 to learn about how we work with sustainability. Read more and/or sign up for the event here.
And finally, a little encouragement from us: June 3rd is World Bicycle Day. The day was established by the UN to recognize the bicycle as a simple, fast, and environmentally friendly mode of transport that promotes physical and mental well-being. Use the day to encourage friends, family, and acquaintances to grab their bike helmets instead of their car keys.
